GARMENT NAME:
Himalayan Expedition Suit (Older version)
DESCRIPTION:
The suit they use to climb Mt Everest. 850 high loft down with GORE Dry Loft shell. Basically a wearable sleeping bag with excellent mobility and amazing warmth. Designed with 700-fill goose down, DryLoft fabric, and sleeping bag style baffle construction for the unrelenting cold of 8,000-meter peaks. Cold spots do not exist on this suit. Pete Athans, who has climbed Mt.
Everest four times, recently wrote us, "I had the good sense to be using the one-piece down Himalayan Suit on my summit of Cho Oyu in Tibet. It was extremely cold and the suit really was a godsend." The DryLoft™ shell is highly water-resistant, extremely breathable, and completely windproof. Among its numerous other features are a fully-baffled integrated tunnel hood, sturdy Supplex® Taslan at abrasion-prone areas, highly articulated arms and a rear rainbow zipper with six sliders for easy venting, as well as dozens of special cold-weather features.
Gore DryLoft fabric is extremely breathable, windproof, water-resistant fabric. The insulation stays dry, convective heat loss is minor and the potential for internal condensation is minimal.
