The Cottages situated on a Working Farm, in a converted stone faced barn restored to preserve its unique character while offering all the comforts of modern living. The barn was built in c.1890 and restored in 2001. They enjoy a rural setting on a drystock farm overlooking golf course. The Cottages are 4 Star I.T.B. approved with Electric Heating, Open Fire, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer and Micro-Wave. They sleep 4-6 comfortably. A Welcome pack of Home Baking greets you on your arrival to the Cottage. Your Linen and Towels are supplied. They are Owner supervised. The cottages are located within the Grounds of Gaulstown House. Places of Interest Nearby Dunshaughlin village is well served with Supermarket, most types of Shops, Banks, Post Office, Laundry, Restaurants & Pubs. Entertainment occurs in the Pubs at weekends and Traditional Irish Music nights mid-week.

 

The cottages are ideally located for visiting Dublin or touring the wonderful Boyne Valley and the East Coast & Midlands Regions. They are an excellent base for visiting the wealth of Leisure, Cultural, Historical, Archaeological and Social activities in the surrounding area. The cottages are overlooking the Black Bush Golf Club ( Tee times can be reserved). Golfing is also available at Royal Tara, Trim, Navan, Headfort, Laytown/Bettystown, Ashbourne and Luttrelstown. All of the capital City’s attractions are within forty minutes drive or by bus every 30 minutes from Dunshaughlin Village.

County Meath or Royal Meath is one of the most historic regions in Ireland. It contains many ancient monuments including the great Neolithic passage tombs of the Boyne (Newgrange, Knowth, Dowth) and Loughcrew, the Iron Age site at the Hill of Tara, the Early Christian site at Slane, the Anglo-Norman St John’s castle at Trim and many medieval churches and tower-houses. Other Places to visit include Monasterboice, Mellifont Abbey, Trim Heritage Centre, Dunsany Castle, Oldcastle, Kells and Navan. Gardens nearby include Gelbelands (Ratoath), Butterstream (Trim), Grove Gardens (Kells) and Hamwood. Horse riding is available nearby at Pellettstown Riding Centre. Play Pitch & Putt in Dunshaughlin, Skryne or Ratoath. Go for forest walks in Kingscourt or Dalgan Park. There are indoor Swimming Pools at Coolmine, Trim & Navan and a Beautiful Beach at Bettystown (40 Minutes away).

Go Horse racing at Fairyhouse (Home of Irish Grand National) (within 5 minute drive), Navan, Bellewstown and Laytown. (all 30 minutes). Horse Sales also take place at Tattersalls, Fairyhouse. The Horse Racecourses at Punchestown, Curragh, Naas all within 40 minutes.
